Can’t make it to LVO this year but still want to play in a 40K tournament and also have a convention to attend?

Welcome to OP Comics & Games GT! For five rounds of play, players will bring 2000-point, Battle-Ready, Matched-Play armies and be challenged to excel in all aspects of the hobby: generalship, painting, modeling, and sportsmanship.

Player Pack: to be announced

I. Event Essentials:

  1. System: Warhammer 40,000 10th Edition, Matched Play.

  2. Battle Size: Strike Force (2000 points)

  3. Board Size: 60” x 44”

  4. Missions: Current Chapter Approved Mission Pack

  5. Number of Rounds: Five

  6. Army Selection: Follow “Muster Armies” in Chapter Approved Mission Pack, Organized play pack 2025

  7. Attendees are expected to bring their army, dice, a tape measure, all relevant rules publications, and access to best coast pairings.

Army Construction and Painting:

  1. All armies must be Battle-forged according to the Strike Force guidelines outlined in the current Chapter Approved Mission Pack.

  2. When building your army, use all the most up-to-date Warhammer 40,000 rules found in the following Games Workshop and Forge World publications prior to the publication date:

• Warhammer 40,000: The App

• Current Chapter Approved Mission Pack

• FAQs & errata found via www.warhammer-community.com/

  1. Army lists should be in an easy-to-read format, listing all relevant wargear and unit upgrades.

  2. The Tournament will be using Best Coast Pairings. Army lists must be pre-submitted by 11:59 PM Pacific time on Monday, September 29th, 2025, through Best Coast Pairings.

  3. All miniatures must be fully assembled and painted to at least a “Battle Ready” standard.

  4. Each model must accurately represent its entry on your army roster (What You See Is What You Get - WYSIWYG). Equipment such as Frag Grenades that are included on every model within a unit but not included on every model of that type need not be modeled.

  5. Converted models may not be “modeled for advantage” and should have a similar size/profile to the model they represent. Converted models must represent a good-faith effort at actual conversions. Converted models may be pre-approved by emailing photos to ethan8439@gmail.com with the subject line: 40K OP GT Conversion

Tournament Format:

  1. players must use BCP to report scores at the end of each game. If you and your opponent discover a scoring error after submission, speak with event staff to have the mistake corrected.

  1. Players will be paired randomly within their win bracket.

Sportsmanship:

  1. Players are expected to adhere to the ITC Code of Conduct.

  2. Players who receive a red card will be disqualified from receiving any prize support at the event and will be ejected at the tournament organizers' discretion.

This tournament will enforce hard dice. This means when the time in the round is called, you are to end the match where it is, and the score at the round end will be your recorded score.

Sonoma Con 2025 Cosplay Competition (Contest times to be announced)

Date: Saturday, October 4th, 2025

Location: Santa Rosa Fairgrounds (E.C Kraft Building)


Eligibility

The competition is open to individuals aged 5 and above. Participants under 18 must have parental or guardian consent.

Costume Guidelines

  • Costumes must represent characters from anime, manga, comics, video games, card games, movies, or original designs.
  • Costumes may be handmade or commissioned.
  • No inappropriate or offensive content is allowed (e.g., hate symbols, excessive gore, or nudity).
  • Real weapons are strictly prohibited. All props must be inspected and approved by staff for safety.
  • All props must comply with venue rules and must not be sharp, heavy, or capable of launching projectiles.

Performance Rules (if applicable)

  • Each contestant or group is allowed up to 2–5 minutes on stage.
  • Performances may include skits, monologues, or character presentations.
  • Microphones may be available upon request (subject to availability).
  • No explicit language or inappropriate gestures during performances.

Judging Criteria

  • Craftsmanship: Accuracy, detail, and construction quality
  • Accuracy: Faithfulness to the character's appearance
  • Creativity: Originality, design, and innovation
  • Performance (if applicable): Stage presence, acting, and crowd engagement
  • Overall Presentation

Registration

  • All participants must pre-register by Friday, October 3rd, 2025.
  • On-site registration is subject to availability.
  • Complete the official registration form, including a character reference image and performance details (if applicable).
  • Late entries will not be guaranteed a spot.

General Rules

  • Respect all fellow competitors, staff, and attendees.
  • Follow all directions from event organizers and volunteers.
  • Any form of harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the venue.
  • The organizers reserve the right to modify or cancel parts of the event due to unforeseen circumstances.

Awards & Prizes

  • Categories may include: Best in Show (Youth and Adult).
  • Winners will be announced at the end of the competition.
